Frontier Developments has showcased the first iteration of the roadmap of content and features coming to Elite Dangerous in 2026.
The roadmap is divided into five phases, each of which will have new vessels. Unlike the other four phases, which will have one vessel each, phase 3 in the summer will have two vessels.
Phase 1 will launch in February, Phase 2 in April, Phase 3 in the summer, Phase 4 in the fall, and Phase 5 in the Winter.
Phase 2 will also include Operations, while Phase 3 will also get the reboot of a core feature of the game. The developers mention that it’s a very relevant one in Elite Dangerous, but did not specify exactly which feature it is. We do know that it has been in the developers’ crosshairs for a while.

We also get to see the first new ship that will be released on February 24 in Arx Early Access. It’s the Kestrel Mark II, manufactured by Core Dynamics.
It’s a smaller ship that focuses on agility, but it also packs a punch in terms of firepower. The design includes large gimbaled thrusters in the wings that further solidify the idea of a ship that is very maneuverable.
The video also showcases an extensive look at Operations, which will come in April with Phase 2.
On top of that, we get a report from the developers on the results of the colonization efforts launched in Elite Dangerous with the Trailblazers expansion a year ago.
You can check out the full video below, so you can enjoy an extensive look at the content I mentioned above.
If you’re unfamiliar with Elite Dangerous, it’s a space simulator currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, but the console versions are limited and aren’t getting recent expansions and updates.
