The Storybook Vale is an area above the Valley that was stolen by Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty) and Hades (Hercules). Recently, the two have been fighting, and ink is coming up from the ground amid the chaos.

Once players have gathered all the Royal Tools from the Valley, they’ll receive a letter from the Lorekeeper asking for help. Players will need to have the Stardust Port. If they don’t, then Merlin can help unlock this.

Players will meet the Lorkepper, who’s actually an enchanted book. Unfortunately, the magic in her pages has been blowing away with the conflict between Hades and Maleficent. The escaped magic has turned into flying origami creatures called Snippets. To catch them, players will craft the Royal Net (which also unlocks a new pose for Photo Mode).

Once players catch Snippets, they must piece them together in a puzzle mini-game. For each completed puzzle, players will unlock new decoration items.

The Lorekeeper, Hades, and Maleficent aren’t the only new characters coming with The Storybook Vale Part One. Merida (Brave) and Flynn Rider (Tangled) will also appear and can be recruited as Villagers. Surprisingly, Hades can also become a Villager. There are also several animal companions venturing around, too.

Other characters will join the adventure, too. Remy, Goofy, and Scrooge McDuck will all bring their business to the Storybook Vale. Other Villagers will check out the picturesque area as well.

The Storybook Vale has three unique areas to it: The Bind, Mythopia, and Everafter. Between new structures, plants, food, and Trials, there’s plenty to explore in all three areas.

Players who purchase Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale and launch the game before November 30, 11:59 pm ET will receive a few dark-academia-themed outfits to explore in. This applies to both the Standard and Magical Edition of the DLC.

Excited players can view the trailer for Part One below:
