Diablo 4 is getting another big new update this month, as Blizzard Entertainment revealed that Season of Witchcraft will be arriving to the hit 2024 action RPG on January 21, 2025.

This Diablo 4 seasonal update takes heavy inspiration from the Witch Doctor class in Diablo 3, with most of the 25 new powers set to arrive alongside the update being almost direct copies from that archetype. Using the teachings of the Witches of Howezar, players will be able to channel these new Swamp powers, exploring three different schools and selecting unique routes on the skill tree that result in all kinds of different playstyles.

You can follow the path of supernatural strength, practice the arcane arts tying together the spirit and mind, or focus on the dark arts of healing. Regardless of the path you choose, the story will task players with tracking down the heads that have been stolen from the Tree of Whispers.

Working together with the Witches of Hawezar, you’ll track them down, find the culprit, and figure out why they were stolen in the first place. To successfully get them back in Diablo 4 Season of Witchcraft, you’ll need to fight the Headrotten Bosses.

Complete these headhunts, and you’ll be able to exchange them for Occult Gems that can be cashed in for loot and other rewards. Players lucky enough to run into stronger boss variants will also be able to find even more valuable rewards; the only catch is that you’ll have to survive the considerably tougher fight.

The armory is also coming alongside Diablo 4 Season of Witchcraft, as players will now be able to quickly save and swap character loadouts instead of having to go to the main menu. Seasonal rewards add Uniques and Legendaries to the loot pool, while Vessel of Hatred players can also experience three new Runes and many updates to existing Runes.

Lastly, anyone who wants more drops can ascend tiers of the Coven’s Favor, earn rewards like a Raven Pet via the Season Journey, or progress through the Battle Pass. You can take a good look at everything coming in the infographic below:
