The map measures 980×800 km and includes West Germany and East Germany on top of parts of Poland, Czechoslovakia, and the Netherlands, centered on the Fulda Gap. There’s even a portion of the Baltic Sea for naval operations.

There are also plenty of accurately reproduced cities including Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Magdeburg, Leipzig, Hannover, Lübeck, and more.

Further points of interest (and targets) include 100 military airfields and heliports such as Ramstein, Spangdahlem, Hahn, Bitburg, and Sembach, and civil airfields like Tegel, Schönefeld, Tempelhof, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Hannover.

Topping everything are plenty of army bases, listening posts, naval bases, training grounds, weapon storage facilities, and more, alongside civilian infrastructure like the road and rail network, power plants and the electricity grid, industrial sites, mines, tunnels, stadiums, rail yards and stations, and cultural landmarks.

We learn that the initial release of the map will include the central part of East and West Germany with summer textures. Further updates will expand North, South, and West and add the rest of the seasons.

Below you can check out two videos showcasing Berlin and the iconic Ramstein Airbase.

If you’re unfamiliar with DCS World, it’s a free-to-play military flight simulator focusing on aviation from World War 2 to the present day. It’s available exclusively for PC on Eagle Dynamics’ own store and Steam.

Recently, Eagle Dynamics revealed its plans for the implementation of the dynamic campaign and more. We also heard about another map focused on the Marianas during World War II.
