Eagle Dynamics and third-party developer Ugra-Media have provided more footage showing off the highly anticipated map for DCS World representing Germany during the Cold War.

We also hear more about the work going on at the developer ahead of release, which is confirmed to be happening in April 2025.

The border has been slightly tweaked based on user feedback, with new locations added, including “new cities and border checkpoints, key Cold War locations, detailed road and rail networks, historically accurate airfields and improved environments.”

Navaids for the airfields have been tested to make sure they work with historically accurate aircraft, and optimization has been done to provide consistent performance.

Historical airfields with accurate taxiways and ground structures are nearly complete, while the folks at Ugra have been very careful about staying within DCS World’s memory constraints despite the density of the map.

That being said, Eagle Dynamics recommends having 8 GB of VRAM and 32 GB of system RAM.

Below, you can check out a long video providing an overview of the map directly from Eagle Dynamics.

Ugra-Media itself has also released a ton of smaller videos showing various locations, including Berlin, Frankfurt, Ramstein, and plenty more.

This adds to previous reveals, including a first batch of videos, a second, a third, a fourth, a fifth, and a sixth.

If you’re unfamiliar with DCS World, it’s a free-to-play flight simulator focusing on military aviation from World War 2 to the present day. It’s available exclusively for PC on Eagle Dynamics’ own store and on Steam.

While the sim is free-to-play, it very much requires paid modules to be fully enjoyed, including aircraft, maps, and campaigns like this one.

Recently, Eagle Dynamics unveiled its plans for the implementation of the dynamic campaign and an Instant Action Generator. We also heard about another map focused on the Marianas during World War II.

The developer also provided a look at more content coming this year and beyond, including an F-15C Eagle and an F-35 Lightning II.
