Today, CD Projekt Red took to social media to inform fans that they’ve decided to delay the release of Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3. Initially, the next patch for the hit sci-fi RPG was planned to hit the game on June 26, 2025.
In the quick post, the team stated that they wanted to give Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3 more time to make sure they are happy with it, indicating some bugs and performance issues need to be ironed out first. The developers did state that they would be aiming for a scope similar to update 2.2, which introduced more cars, more Johnny Silverhand appearances, upgraded character customization, and an entirely reworked photo mode.
It is no secret that Cyberpunk 2077 launched in a state of disarray when it released back in 2020, featuring numerous game-breaking bugs, terrible frame drops, and being unplayable on previous-gen consoles. The game still found success upon its debut, selling 13.7 million copies in just a few weeks.
Since then, Cyberpunk 2077 has generated over $752 million, thanks to numerous free updates to the base game and an expansion, Phantom Liberty, that added a boatload of more features, story, and weapons. Due to that success, a sequel has already been announced, and though there is no timetable for when it will release, it has already entered pre-production.
At the moment, there isn’t an exact release date planned for Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3, but CD Projekt Red did thank fans for their continued support and patience, stating they’d update everyone as soon as they could.
