Today, Pearl Abyss has released a new behind-the-scenes look at the voice actors bringing the Crimson Desert main characters to life.
In the video, Alec Newman (Kliff), Stewart Scudamore (Oongka), and Rebecca Hanssen (Damiane) share insight into their characters and the creative process behind their performances, revealing how voice, emotion, and physicality combine to shape the game’s cast.
Hanssen describes Damiane as down-to-earth yet fiercely headstrong, a warrior who stands firm in her convictions. According to Scudamore, while Oongka is more than just a bombastic, bestial orc, as the character is just as much of a philosophical, world-wise nomad beneath the surface, with even his layered grunts carrying meaning.
While we’ve already seen plenty of info regarding Kliff’s backstory, Newman adds layers to this by reflecting on Kliff’s stoic loyalty and strong moral compass, noting how the character’s voice immediately resonated in the recording booth, particularly during the game’s intense combat sequences.
