Today, Bandai Namco revealed yet another of the characters that will co-star in its upcoming action RPG, Code Vein 2, this time around showcasing Josée Anjou, the Revenant who rules the Sunken City.
In Code Vein 2, Josée Anjou is a master at adapting to her situation, having turned what was an apocalyptic nightmare into a manageable situation for the last surviving humans thanks to the shelters she helped build. Just like everyone else, this companion isn’t perfect, dealing with plenty of guilt and remorse due to the events that have transpired.
Specifically, she is haunted by a past failure involving her inability to stop a catastrophic Resurgence outbreak, an event that caused unimaginable destruction. Carrying the weight of that failure, she now fights relentlessly on the front lines as a constant guardian for the living.
When it comes to her abilities, Josée Anjou is a powerful front-line attacker who overwhelms enemies through force and resilience, wielding a two-handed sword capable of easily staggering foes, supported by her “Hound” trait, which grants high resistance to being disrupted while attacking.
Speaking of support, her Support Skill, “Precision,” makes enemies even easier to break, enabling her to push through incoming attacks to deliver crushing blows. Lastly, her devastating skill “Unquenchable Flame” summons sweeping pillars of fire that can annihilate entire groups of enemies.
While we aren’t quite sure the circumstances around how you’ll meet her, she is sure to play an importgant part in the story, which takes players on an epic journey that features time travel, unique bosses, and a dynamic Partner System. You’ll take the role of a Revenant Hunter that is revived by a Revenant girl, Lou MagMell, using her own heart, who wields the power to travel through time.
They soon embark on a mission to rewrite history and save the world, traveling across vast environments and recruiting companions to help prevent the cataclysmic event known as the Resurgence. Locations include flooded ruins of the Sunken City, the Undead Forest, the isolated MagMell Island, and more.
Code Vein II is launching on January 30, 2026, and is available now for pre-orders on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). For more information, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates on this, other upcoming RPGs, and plenty more Bandai Namco properties.
