Paradox Interactive is celebrating 11 years of the Cities: Skylines franchise with quite a few celebrations up its sleeve this month. Now, Cities: Skylines 2 has received its free Anniversary Update, bringing a new arena, zone toggling, an encyclopedia, and more.
The most noticeable change is the brand-new Iceflake Arena, an ice arena that can have a variety of entertainment purposes, like hockey matches and concerts. Having one in a city gives it a city-wide boost in attractiveness and a well-being boost within two kilometers. There’s also a sauna.
Inspired by zoning mods, the Anniversary Update for Cities: Skylines 2 adds a Zoning Toggle that makes it easier to remove zoning from roads. This includes options to remove it on one side of the road or both sides depending on what you need for the situation. More is planned for this in the future, and Iceflake Studios has asked for player feedback on the feature.
The Cities: Skylines 2 Anniversary Update also introduces the in-game encyclopedia. This gives players all the information about things in the game without having to leave the game. It expands on tutorials, and there’s a search function that makes it easy to use.
Of course, as any update does, there are several bug fixes that were implemented. Players can read more about those here in the patch notes.

Paradox also pointed out that it’s working on issues from previous patches that have been brought up on the official forums, and fans can look forward to more updates on this end in the future.
