Cyberpunk and The Witcher developer CD Projekt RED has shared an update on the development of its new IP code-named “Project Hadar.”
The update was provided during the Q&A session of the financial conference call for investors and analysts related to the second quarter of 2025.
Joint CEO MichaÅ‚ Nowakowski mentioned that Hadar is still an “IP Concept,” so it’s not yet in active development. The developers are working on the story, or more precisely, on the background.
There is some prototyping going on in terms of gameplay, which is normal, since “the end goal is to make a video game.”
That being said, Nowakowski confirmed that CD Projekt “wants to make this IP happen,” but in terms of where they’re going to go with its development, it’ll be announced in due time.
It’s worth mentioning that earlier today, we heard that 22 developers were employed on Hadar as of June 30, up from 19 as of March 31, 2025. That means that the studio is still small.
The existence of Project Hadar was originally revealed in October 2022, when CD Projekt illustrated its long-term strategy going forward. Since then, very little has been shared officially.
Of course, most of CD Projekt’s manpower and resources are currently focused on the development of The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2, so it’s likely going to be a while before we hear anything more specific about Hadar, at least in any official capacity.
