According to the press release, net sales for the whole company were 88,853 million yen (down 16.3% year-on-year) while operating income was 31,020 million yen (down 35.0% year-on-year).

Looking at the Digital Contents Business, which includes video games, net sales were 58,534 million yen (down 28.1% year-on-year) while operating income was 29.247 million yen (down 38.2% year-on-year).

This is mostly due to the fact that we’re comparing against the year in which Capcom released Street Fighter 6. That being said, unit sales of catalog games (released before the current fiscal year) increased from 26.7 million units to 28.61 million units.

Customers are excited about the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, which propelled sales of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Monster Hunter Rise, pushing cumulative unit sales for the franchise beyond 100 million.

Capcom is obviously very confident in the performance of Monster Hunter Wilds., which will launch on February 28 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

As such it says that it’s still on track to achieve its full fiscal year target of 165,000 million yen in net sales and 64,000 million yen in operating income. Both results, if achieved, would be significantly better compared to the 152,410 million yen in net sales and 57,081 million yen in operating income achieved in the fiscal year 2023.

If you want to compare with historical results, you can check out the previous quarterly announcement, which Capcom shared back in October.

Other companies already shared their financial results this quarter, including Koei Tecmo.
