According to the press release and presentation, net sales for the whole company were 29,597 million yen (down 32.5% year-on-year), while operating income was 12,889 million yen (down 46.4% year-on-year).

Looking at the Digital Contents business, which includes games, net sales were 21,416 million yen (down 43.5% year-on-year), while operating income was 12,821
million yen (down 48.0% year-on-year).

Sales for the first quarter were dominated by catalog games (titles released before the beginning of the quarter) and the launch of older games on additional platforms, since new releases are mostly focused in the second half of the fiscal year (between October 2024 and March 2025).

Unit sales in the quarter were 9.53 million units, down from 13.5 million units in the same period of the previous fiscal year. That being said, the comparison is against the quarter in which Street Fighter 6 was released.

The launch of f Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin on PS4 allowed the game to surpass 2 million units sold cumulatively (including the original PC and Switch release).

Sales of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Monster Hunter Rise also continued to grow, propelling Monster Hunter series sales to over 100 million cumulatively worldwide.

Monster Hunter: World (including the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition) was actually the top seller for the quarter, moving 998,000 units and reaching 26.323 million units sold in its lifetime.

Capcom Sales

Sales of Dragon’s Dogma 2, which launched at the end of the previous quarter in March, “progressed in line with expectations.” It has sold 461,000 units in the quarter, reaching 3.084 million lifetime units sold by June 30.

Street Fighter 6 sold another 469,000 units in the quarter, reaching 3.774 million lifetime units sold by June 30.

As a result, progress toward the full-year goal of 165,000 million yen in net sales and 64,000 million yen in net income was according to plan and the company is still on track to achieve it.

As a matter of fact, during the presentation, Capcom mentioned that all business segments actually outperformed their planned results, making “good progress” toward achieving the full-year target

Due to that, the forecast for the full fiscal year ending in March 2025 remains unchanged from the announcement made in April.
