The Blood of Dawnwalker by Witcher Veterans Reveals Intriguing First Gameplay

Cohen from Blood of Dawnwalker

Polish developer Rebel Wolves and publisher Bandai Namco revealed the first full gameplay of the upcoming Open-World RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker.

We get to see a whopping 21 minutes of gameplay showcasing different ways to approach the same quest, on top of combat, and the protagonist, Cohen, as he uses his vampiric abilities.

Interestingly, his health bar during the night is also his reserve of blood, so he’ll have to feed. He can simply drink enough to knock someone unconscious, or ignore the safety of his victims and completely drain them to death.

Playing Cohen, you can even decide that you won’t harm humans, and feed exclusively on animals. Choices appear to be extremely important in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and you can pretty much shape the story depending on the path you take.

For instance, if you kill people indiscriminately to quench your vampiric thirst, you may actually end up removing important NPCs from the story.

We also get to see a very relevant antagonist, Boyaress Xanthe, a powerful and ancient vampire.

You can check out all of the gameplay below.

It’s worth mentioning that this is pre-beta gameplay, and there is plenty that could change before the game is released. When it does, it’ll launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

If you’re unfamiliar with Rebel Wolves, it’s a developer based in Warsaw, Poland, and it includes several CD Projekt RED veterans. The CEO and Game Director is Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who directed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Narrative Director Jakub Szamałek was Principal Writer on Cyberpunk 2077 and Senior Writer on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its expansions.
