Five years after the official launch of crossplay, Black Desert will now celebrate another big milestone, as Pearl Abyss revealed that the hit MMORPG will launch natively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on June 26, 2025.
Black Desert was originally released in 2015 as a free-to-play online MMO, though there are some buy-to-play models and versions as well. Since its debut, the game has earned over $1.7 billion in worldwide revenue and has reached over 40 million players.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game will transfer any data players have accumulated across their playthroughs and will come at no extra cost to existing console players. It will also feature exclusive post-launch content, as the developers will be sunsetting support for Xbox One and PS4 consoles.

Pearl Abyss cited performance and stability as to why they would only be focusing on the current-generation platforms, as new content like Ulukita and Deadeye are set to raise the bar for hardware limitations.
In other series news, a prequel series by Pearl Abyss, Crimson Desert, is also in development. The game follows a lone mercenary as he navigates the stunning beauty and cutthroat dangers of Pywel, the war-torn continent where history will be written in blood.
Crimson Desert is currently set to arrive in late 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, though its first public North American demo will be available at PAX East in May. Be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for more updates and boss fight gameplay videos as soon as they are revealed.
