Athena Worlds and Dovetail Announce Long Term Collaboration for Train Sim World 5

Today, Dovetail Games, the developer behind the hit 2024 locomotive simulation title Train Sim World 5, announced its official long-term collaboration project with Athena Worlds.

Athena Worlds was founded in June 2024 by a team of industry veterans with previous works on titles such as Alien Vs Predator, Forza Horizon, Goldeneye N64, The Sims, and Microsoft Flight Simulator. The team will be working with Dovetail on Train Sim World 5 for the upcoming release of the game’s ECML Diesel Railtours DLC pack, which will be available for PC (Steam & Epic Store), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5 on April 3, 2025, for £11.99.

ECML Diesel Railtours is the first content set to be made under the company’s “Athena Simulations” brand, led by a dedicated team of simulation specialists. It will feature one of the most iconic diesel locomotives in history: the Class 47, 47484 Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Purchasing the DLC will allow players to drive the locomotive across numerous routes, including the Great Western Railway, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, and London. While some of the tracks mentioned above are part of separate DLC, you’ll still have plenty to do and explore, even if you don’t have them.

The pack will feature 10 special scenarios on the UK East Coast Mainline, between Doncaster and Peterborough, allowing you to explore using the train named after the famed engineer to your heart’s content. The base game of Train Sim World 5 is currently for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC (Epic Games Store and Steam) for $49.99.
