We get to see four new characters, the Werewolf with a Monocle, the Nobleman with a Black Coat, the Witch with Sheep Eyes, and The Winged Dragon Warrior. Those are not playable companions, but enemies standing in Yumia’s way, driven by an obsession with alchemy.

More details have also been shared about battle gameplay, which includes different skills depending on whether you’re attacking at close range or long range. Dodging and guarding at the right time provide an advantage, and players can switch freely between the three characters on the front line and the three in the rear guard.

“Friend actions” are powerful co-op attacks that can be launched when certain conditions are met.

When the gauge is full, each character can activate their “Advent” mode, which powers them up and lets them use their “Maximize Advent” special move to deal a powerful blow to the enemy. Of course, items created via alchemy are still very relevant to turn the tide of battle and exploit the enemy’s weaknesses.

Synthesis is used to create new items that can be used both in combat and during exploration. We also have “Resonance Blending” which works by adding ingredients to the “Atlas Core” in each recipe and making them resonate. The power of said resonance determines the power of the resulting item.

Housing is another relevant aspect of the game. You can either build your base freely by using components like walls, floors, roofs, and furniture, or you can take the easy route and build from a catalog of blueprints. By increasing the comfort level of your base you can unlock bonuses that power up Yumia and her friends.

During exploration, you can camp with your friends, cook food, rest, and spend some relaxing time together. Not only does cooking provide bonuses in battle, but there are events that can happen only while resting at the camp.

Below you can enjoy a new trailer, new gameplay showcased during a livestream from Japan, and a gallery of screenshots and artwork provided by Koei Tecmo.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land will be released on March 21, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

It’s not the only Atelier game in development, as Koei Tecmo and Gust are also working on Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & The White Guardian.
