Aphelion Showcases New Antagonist, Stealth, Massive Setting & More

Today, Don’t Nod showed off a brand new look at its upcoming cinematic third-person action-adventure game launching in 2026, Aphelion.

Revealed at the ID@Xbox Showcase, the latest look at Aphelion is all about the art of hiding to survive. The trailer showcases astronauts Ariane and fellow Thomas Cross in brand-new stealth sequences, a never-before-seen alien antagonist, new environments, and the in-game spacesuit patch.

You can get a good look at all of the new content below:

Aphelion features a dual-protagonist structure, with Ariane’s gameplay being highly physical as she explores and traverses Persephone, while Thomas, who is injured from the crash, focuses more on investigating the planet in other, more deductive ways. The game is all about finding out the planet’s strange conditions and what caused the crash of their ship, the Hope-01, unlocking secrets and clues along the way.

The duo will be tasked with surviving not only the elements of the massive planet, but also the alien antagonist, known as The Nemesis. This monster lives in the oceans of Persephone, featuring an intense might and viciousness that requires players to hide, sneak, and avoid confrontations to survive while understanding where it comes from and why it’s stalking them.

Aphelion is set to release in 2026 on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will also be an Xbox Play Anywhere title and available day one with Game Pass. For more information on this and other reveals from the Xbox showcase, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
