Today, SCS Software released a new teaser hinting at another State DLC coming for American Truck Simulator, and it’s South Dakota.
While the Mount Rushmore State is not directly named, the hints are pretty obvious.
We get to see a point marked as the “true center of the nation” and a field where cows graze. The Dairy industry is a pretty big indication pointing to South Dakota, but the description is the dead giveaway.
“Some say that our next American Truck Simulator expansion is bringing us closer to the middle of the United States, others argue that it’s a bit of a stretch. Think you know where we’re headed to? Let us know your guesses…”
The “bit of a stretch” is the most relevant clue, as the Geographic Center of the United States is in South Dakota, as long as you count Alaska and Hawaii, which is why, looking at a map casually, you may think the middle is elsewhere. The geographic center of the 48 contiguous United States is in Kansas.
You can see the teaser for yourself, while we can expect South Dakota to be announced officially soon.
American Truck Simulator is available exclusively for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2.
At the moment, it’s very likely that it’ll be the next DLC to launch is Iowa, and you can check out its fields, the truck stops, the towns, the road network, more settlements, the bridges, an ethanol plant, and its farming industry.
SCS Software also recently revealed Louisiana (alongside its truck stops and welcome centers, and buildings) and Illinois. You can take a look at its truck stops and the city of Marion.
Perhaps the most interesting recent announcement is the Road Trip mode, which will let you drive pickup trucks and other vehicles in the same world that has been reserved for cargo transport until now, including new reasons to drive and explore.
Last, but not least, a few weeks ago, we saw the free addition of the Kenworth W900 Legacy Edition.
