American Truck Simulator Reveals Animated Ferries and Drawbridges of Louisiana DLC

SCS Software has provided new screenshots, footage, and details about the upcoming Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator.

We learn that the DLC will include several ferries, locks, and drawbridges, which will include seamless animations, both improving immersion and connections within the map.

Speaking of ferries, you’ll find them in Cameron-Holly Beach, Cote Blanche, and Port Fourchon.

In terms of movable bridges, you’ll find structures that open and close to let boats pass in Monroe, Houma, and the Old River Lock. This is interesting, as these features force the driver to pause and wait, breaking the usual pace of a drive.

You can check them out below in the gallery of screenshots and footage provided by the developer on X (formerly Twitter).

American Truck Simulator is available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming. The open beta of update 1.57 for PC has already been made available.

On top of that, a rework has been revealed for the areas around the famous Route 66.

Another big project is the Road Trip feature, spearheaded by the Ford Car Pack, which will expand the simulator’s experience from trucks to cars and pickup trucks, including pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages.
