SCS Software has provided another look at two of the state DLCs coming to American Truck Simulator, Illinois and South Dakota.
We start with a look at the water bodies that we’ll find in the Illinois DLC, starting with Lake Michigan and the beaches of Chicago.
That being said, that’s far from representative of all the lakes and reservoirs that dot the state, which will also be represented in the DLC.
These include Rend Lake and its dam, Little Grassy Lake, Crab Orchard Lake, and Highland Silver Lake. On top of that, there will be rivers, wetlands, and swamps to check out.

Next is a look at part of the road network of another upcoming DLC, South Dakota.
Specifically, we can enjoy screenshots and footage of many of the roads included in the DLC, alongside truck stops and even scenic routes designed for the upcoming road trip expansion in the Black Hills National Forest.

American Truck Simulator is available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming. A beta of update 1.58 has been released a few days ago.
Illinois is likely the next DLC coming after Louisiana, and you can check out its truck stops, the city of Marion, Rockford, Quincy, even more truck stops, Moline, Peoria, Champaign, the prairies, and Bloomington.
South Dakota should come afterward, and we already saw its Truck Stops, countryside, towns, cities, and more Truck Stops.
The game will soon cross the borders of the United States and go to Canada with the British Columbia DLC.
Another big project is the Road Trip feature, spearheaded by the Ford Car Pack (of which we also saw the Ford Crown Victoria and the Ford F-150), which will expand the simulator’s experience from trucks to cars and pickup trucks, including pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages.
