American Truck Simulator Reveals the Prairies and Fields of Illinois DLC

SCS Software released new screenshots and footage showing off the upcoming Illinois DLC for American Truck Simulator.

We get to see some typical vistas of the Prairie State, and appropriately, its prairies and fields. These will be dotted by giant wind farms around roads like US-20, I-39, and I-55.

The countryside along I-57, I-7 is dominated by fields dedicated to farming corn, soybeans, hay, and more, but not all of the state is flat, as there are some areas with rolling hills and valleys.

There are even some occasional forested areas, was you can see in the screenshots below and in the footage shared by the developer on X (formerly Twitter).

American Truck Simulator is available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming. Update 1.57 for PC has recently been made available.

Illinois is likely the next DLC coming after Louisiana, and you can check out its truck stopsthe city of MarionRockfordQuincyeven more truck stopsMolinePeoria, and Champaign.

South Dakota should come afterward, and we already saw its Truck Stopscountrysidetownsand cities.

The game will soon cross the borders of the United States and go to Canada with the British Columbia DLC.

The developer is also working on a rework of the map around Route 66, of which we already saw a few new and remade cities.

Another big project is the Road Trip feature, spearheaded by the Ford Car Pack (of which we also saw the Ford Crown Victoria), which will expand the simulator’s experience from trucks to cars and pickup trucks, including pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages.
