SCS Software released new screenshots and footage of the upcoming rework of the areas in American Truck Simulator around the famous Route 66.
The focus is on the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam.
We get to see Grand Canyon Village with the addition of the settlement of Tusayan, alongside multiple lookouts over the Canyon. The official entrance gate to the National Park has also been included.
You’ll be able to seek jobs at depots, including a market, a road construction site, a warehouse, and an aviation service depot.
Interestingly, we also see one of the open trucks used to haul tourists along the Canyon’s rim, a very common sight in Tusayan.
The entire area surrounding Hoover Dam has also been rebuilt from the ground up, including several lookout points, rest areas, and improved road layouts.
You can check out the screenshots below.

We also get to see a video published on the developer’s X (formerly Twitter) account.
American Truck Simulator is available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming. Update 1.57 for PC has recently been made available.
If you want to see more about the rework around Route 66, we already saw a few new and remade cities.
Illinois is likely the next DLC coming after Louisiana, and you can check out its truck stops, the city of Marion, Rockford, Quincy, even more truck stops, Moline, Peoria, Champaign, and the prairies.
South Dakota should come afterward, and we already saw its Truck Stops, countryside, towns, cities, and more Truck Stops.
The game will soon cross the borders of the United States and go to Canada with the British Columbia DLC.
Another big project is the Road Trip feature, spearheaded by the Ford Car Pack (of which we also saw the Ford Crown Victoria), which will expand the simulator’s experience from trucks to cars and pickup trucks, including pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages.
