So far, American Truck Simulator has been confined to the United States, but this is likely going to change soon: Canada is coming.
During a series of livestreams over the past few months, SCS Software featured 2D artist Annie paint a beautiful landscape.
Today the developer confirmed that the painting is (perhaps predictably) a sign of things to come.
You can see it below and try to recognize the landscape.
if it doesn’t look familiar, the solution is actually not that obscure. It’s Mount Robson in British Columbia, Canada, as seen from the Yellowhead Highway.
At the moment, no furtherinformation has been provided besides the tease, so we don’t know anything about timings and features, but it’s certainly interesrting to see that SCS has decided to move into Canada while there are still major US states missing.
Yet, after all, it’s “American Truck Simulator” and not “US Truck Simulator” so it makes sense.
American Truck Simulator is available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming. The game has just been updated to version 1.56.
Several DLC are alreadt in development, including Louisiana, and you can already check out its truck stops, welcome centers, buildings, some cities, more settlements, its forests and wetlands, more cities, the bridges, the road network, Port Fourchon, Shreveport, and the custom depots.
Illinois is also coming, and you can check out its truck stops, the city of Marion, Rockford, Quincy, even more truck stops, and Moline.
A South Dakota DLC has also been recentky revealeed, and we already saw its Truck Stops, countryside, and towns.
On top of that, a rework has been revealed for the areas around the famous Route 66.
We’re also expecting a Louisiana DLC, and you can check out its truck stops, welcome centers, buildings, some cities, more settlements, its forests and wetlands, more cities, the bridges, and the road network.
Another big project is the Road Trip feature, spearheaded by the Ford Car Pack, which will expand the simulator’s experience from trucks to cars and pickup trucks, including pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages.
