Today, SCS Software made the beta for update 1.55 of American Truck Simulator available for download.
As usual, in order to get it, you need to select the dedicated option on the Betas tab in the properties of the simulator on Steam, keeping in mind that it’s still in testing, so unexpected issues are pretty much par for the course.
We have already seen the updates to the Kenworth T680, the Freightliner Cascadia, and the Farm Machinery DLC, on top of the Asynchronous Loading, but there’s much more on the menu.
The Driving Academy is getting a Truck Driving Proficiency Test, which includes some challenging scenarios for you to handle that come with additional conditions for passing.
Each scenario can earn you 3 collectable stars and net you rewards depending on how well you do.
Players will now be able to paint FlowBelow parts, while the New Mexico DLC is getting custom city intros for Farmington, Las Cruces, Roswell, and Santa Fe.
The mail menu is getting a redesign, while the graphics options will show their effect with dedicated screenshots. The map is getting improved wit a hotkey that centers it on your position, while Steam Achievements are being improved.
Below you can read the full patch notes.

American Truck Simulator is available exclusively for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2, which should be getting its own 1.55 beta soon.
The next DLC is likely to be Iowa, and you can already check out its fields, the truck stops, the towns, the road network, more settlements, the bridges, an Ethanol plant, the farming industry, and its river ports.
We also saw plenty of gameplay showing a route from a feedmill depot near Waterloo to an agricultural facility close to Iowa City.
SCS Software also Louisiana, of which we saw its truck stops, welcome centers, buildings, and some cities. We also saw Illinois, its truck stops, the city of Marion, and Rockford. The latest announcement was South Dakota.
Perhaps the most interesting recent announcement is the Road Trip mode, which will let you drive pickup trucks and other vehicles in the same world that has been reserved for cargo transport until now, including new reasons to drive and explore.
