Today, SCS Software announced another feature coming with the next update for American Truck Simulator, numbered 1.55.
According to the announcement, the update will bring new customization options and upgrades for the popular Kenworth T680.
Two additional cab variants will be added, the 52″ Mid-Roof and the 76″ High-Roof. A whopping seven additional chassis configurations will add more flexibility. They’ll include 6×4 options for all cabs in both short and long hood versions, and 4×2 setups for day cabs.
Interiors are getting even more variety, with 20 additional options. These include 8 for the 76″ High-Roof cab and 8 for the 52″ Mid-Roof. Each will have single and double bunk options, on top of 4 for the day cab.
Every interior will have Diamond VIT and Vantage trim options, plus Tan and Grey color options
The changes will be more than cosmetic, including 7 engine variants from the Cummins X12 and X15 series, plus 5 transmission choices.
There will be a ton of new accessories, including bumpers, cab extenders, exhausts, chrome detailing, hood variants, mirrors, fenders, aero kits, chassis skid plates and deck plates, side windows, removable rear extenders, steering wheel variants, and removable sun visors
You can check out the screenshots below, keeping in mind that this isn’t the only truck getting a refresh in version 1.55. The Freightliner Cascadia will as well.

American Truck Simulator is available exclusively for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2.
The next DLC is likely to be Iowa, and you can already check out its fields, the truck stops, the towns, the road network, more settlements, the bridges, an Ethanol plant, the farming industry, and its river ports.
We also saw plenty of gameplay showing a route from a feedmill depot near Waterloo to an agricultural facility close to Iowa City.
SCS Software also Louisiana, of which we saw its truck stops, welcome centers, buildings, and some cities. We also saw Illinois, its truck stops, the city of Marion, and Rockford. The latest announcement was South Dakota.
Perhaps the most interesting recent announcement is the Road Trip mode, which will let you drive pickup trucks and other vehicles in the same world that has been reserved for cargo transport until now, including new reasons to drive and explore.
