Aces of Thunder is a realistic flight simulator that’s focused on aerial combat. Players will choose from 29 World War I and World War II aircraft, taking players to various fronts to experience the dogfights.

As a simulator, accuracy is of utmost importance to the developers. The aircraft are supposed to have realistic and accurate cockpits and weapons. Plus, combat is affected by things like weather conditions, which players will have to navigate with care.

There’s a single-player campaign where players will jump from various events across the two world wars. They’ll fight on different sides with different aircraft, giving players a chance to experience different types of dogfighting.

Other modes include multiplayer PvP battles, single-player standalone missions, a proving ground, and a mission editor to create unique missions.

Not only can players enjoy Aces of Thunder on regular setups, but it’s also optimized for VR. In fact, the game was originally supposed to be VR only, but the developers changed things up and are making it for flat screens, too. This gives more people the ability to experience the action.

Aces of Thunder is set to release on February 3, 2026, on PC and PlayStation 5, including PlayStation VR2.

This isn’t Gaijin Entertainment’s first time in the genre, as it’s known for the popular vehicle-focused combat game War Thunder and other military games like Enlisted.
