The trailer is pretty brief but showcases gameplay from the cockpit of World War II warbirds and World War I aircraft, certainly providing a nice idea of what the game will look like.

We get to see how you can take a look at your aircraft on the ground and then enjoy both solo missions and PvP dogfight.

The trailer also claims that the aircraft are “recreated with unprecedented detail,” and that makes you wonder whether someone at Gaijin has ever seen Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (or even 2020) or DCS World, but I suppose marketing is gonna marketing.

That being said, the gameplay does look rather exciting, and you can see for yourself below.

If you’re unfamiliar with Aces of Thunder, it’s coming in 2025 for Steam and PS5 with PlayStation VR2.

Its developer, Gaijin Entertainment, is certainly not new to flight games, being the creator of the popular War Thunder. You may also know them for Enlisted and more.

Aces of Thunder includes over 20 WWII warbirds. Among them are the American P-51 Mustang and P-63 Kingcobra, the German Bf 109 and Fw 190, the Soviet Il-2, La-5FN, and Yak-9T, the British Spitfire, and the Japanese A6M3 Zero.

On top of these, the game will also include a variety of World War II planes like the SPAD S.XIII, the Sopwith F.1 Camel, the Fokker D.VII, and the Fokker Dr.I made famous by the Red Baron, Manfred von Richthofen.
