Riot Games has just announced that world-renowned rock band Likin Park will be the performing artist for tomorrow’s 2024 League of Legends World Championship Anthem, “Heavy Is The Crown.” The song will be available on YouTube or stream the track anywhere you can listen to music starting Tuesday, September 24 at 8:00 AM PT.
“Heavy Is The Crown” follows Linkin Park’s #1 single “The Emptiness Machine,” which marked their first brand new music in seven years. Both will be a part of their eighth studio album, “From Zero,” which releases on November 15, 2024.
The live performance will signal the start of the LoL Esports competition, where the top teams from nine regions compete for the world champion title. League of Legends World 2024 is the culmination of the regular season for LoL and is set to last three months.
When commenting on the collaboration, lead singer Mike Shinoda said, “It’s been an amazing experience partnering with Riot to bring this anthem to the global League of Legends community. “The song is a real highlight of this new era for us, harnessing our signature sound and infusing it with fresh energy. We’re so excited for players and fans to experience this!”
Last year’s event wrote its name in the record books as the most-watched esports event of all time. In other LoL news, the League of Legends Circuit: Oceania (LCO) is being “revamped,” hitting the second hurdle for the region based in Australia.
