Euro Truck Simulator 2 has released its 1.51 update, adding new content, reworked maps, UI updates, and plenty of bug fixes to improve the simulator.
The first thing players will notice with the update is the new loading screen. It’s now easier to navigate and understand. The sleek, simplified look is also more welcoming for players who may be new to simulation. Plus, it focuses on the heart of the simulator – a beautiful truck. This is also more comfortable to get around, whether players are using a wheel or controller.
Additionally, the in-game intros for the Italia and Beyond the Baltic Sea DLCs are brand new. That’s over 40 new intros for cities in these two DLC packs.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 is currently working on the Germany Rework project. The 1.51 update includes complete reworks of Bremen, Kassel, Osnabrück, and Magdeburg.
Each of these areas was reworked from the ground up with new mapping technology. The road networks have been improved, and the landmarks and industry areas are more accurate than before.
Driving at night will also look better with new cabin shadow improvements. Trucks’ interior shadows have an Interior Shadow Tweaker. This adjusts how light from outside of the vehicle interacts with the cabin, helping it look more realistic.
Players can also use the new search bar function in settings to find everything they need. Veteran players should love this, as the update reorganized the search settings. Plus, there are two new categories: interface and accessibility. While these new setting options have been changed to make more sense, the search bar can help clear up any confusion.
Players can now toggle the Automatic Differential Lock and Blind Spot Sensor settings.
The 1.51 update also added a better way to change the menu background. Players can also preview their backgrounds before solidifying the change. New notifications will also appear when players get new Desktop Background options. Everyone will get a new Blacklight studio background to try out.
New controller configurations make the game easier than ever for those playing with them. The new settings give players more control, and it should feel more like driving naturally. Players who had unique controller settings may need to record their settings, as the update could reset them.
These changes come after a successful open beta period. It let developers patch out many bugs and fine-tune the new features to be what players want.
