Super Zoo Story, a cozy, zoo management simulation game is hitting Kickstarter on October 1.
The game tasks players with taking over their late father’s island zoo, which has become a bit of a disaster. Players will have to create new zoo areas, design them, and collect over 70 animals to fill the zoo. They can explore to find new animals.
Players will even find dinosaur fossils and bring them back to life (without the terror of the Jurassic Park franchise). They can fuse the DNA found in fossils with other animal DNA, creating unique dinosaurs and color combinations.
They’ll also have to take care of the animals at their zoo and manage the day-to-day tasks of running a zoo. This includes creating and selling souvenirs and playing vet to sick animals.
That’s not all – there’s a thriving town right outside of the zoo that players get to experience. They’ll be able to build relationships with over 40 characters, and romance will be included. Zoo-keeping has a place here as well. Players can help characters find their own animal to optimize their happiness.
The town’s oceanarium also needs help. Players will be tasked with filling it with the right creatures while maintaining their own zoo.
The Kickstarter announcement came with a teaser trailer as well, showing off the cozy zoo-building gameplay in action.
There’s no release date for Super Zoo Story yet, but it may be included when the Kickstarter launches. As of now, the Steam page for the game shows a 2024 release date.
