Today, technology and artificial intelligence company Nvidia announced that it would form a partnership with the professional eSports team Cloud9 to help promote its technology, including products such as GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs and the Nvidia Reflex.

Commenting on the partnership, Cloud9 Co-Founder and CEO Jack Etienne said, “This collaboration is a huge step for us as we continue to push the limits in competitive gaming and content creation. The GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs and Nvidia Reflex technology give our players the performance and responsiveness they need to stay ahead of the game.”

The post went on to explain that Cloud9 has already been using Nvidia products in order to practice, specifically using GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPUs, so the partnership with them was a no-brainer. Alongside the improved framerate that is necessary for fast-paced competitive games like Valorant, Counter-Strike, and Apex Legends, the eSports team also revealed the AI models they use to create their strategies are also enhanced by the high-quality GPUs provided by Nvidia.

For those unfamiliar with the team, Cloud9 was formed back in September 2013. The Los Angeles-based organization has since crafted a name for itself in the eSports world, becoming the fifth-most valuable esports organization in the world as of 2022, valued at around $380 million, according to Forbes.

While they specialize in a bevy of different games, only two are currently franchised and competing in specific divisions: Cloud9 League of Legends of the League of Legends Championship Series and Cloud9 Valorant of the Valorant Champions Tour Americas. Most recently, they competed in the Esports World Cup Foundation, a championship collaberation funded by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund.
