Back in late June, fans were considerably upset to learn that the upcoming release of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 would not be coming to Xbox. Today, after some discussion with their partners at Microsoft, Capcom USA announced that it will, in fact, be bringing the games to Xbox consoles.
To be exact, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will each be released on Xbox One, making them backward compatible with Xbox Series S|X. It is important to note that the release window for these consoles is a bit different from that for the other platforms.
“We’re excited to announce that after technical discussions with our partners at Microsoft, we can confirm that Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will release on Xbox One,” Capcom tweeted. “The Xbox One version will be out in 2025, so please stay tuned for more information.”
Nintendo and PlayStation fans can expect these arcade classics and fighting collections to be released on PS4 and Nintendo Switch on September 12, 2024. Currently, the Xbox version of the games has a release window of 2025, with no specific quarter or general time frame associated with it.
