Today, Ubisoft, Lightstorm Entertainment, and Disney revealed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes Expansion, the first official expansion to the video game adaptation of James Cameron’s hit sci-fi movie series, is set to arrive on December 19, 2025.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes Expansion pits players against the fearsome warband of Mangkwan raiders, also known as the Ash Clan, who are also the main antagonists of the upcoming third installment in the film series, Avatar: Ash and Blood. The clan has built a reputation of defiance, as they no longer follow Eywa and are committed to wiping out anyone who does, including the resistance.

You can see an example of their striking visual identity, scarification, piercings, and bold bands of red and black paint, and aggressive combat style in the trailer below:

The expansion will expand on the game’s previous story, with returning allies that build on clan backstories, like the Wind Traders, and emotional story beats that deepen So’lek’s journey of survival and vengeance. Alongside this DLC, a free major title update also launched earlier this week, introducing two of the most requested features from the community: New Game+ and a long-awaited third-person view.

Despite releasing in December 2023, where it received mixed-to-average reviews, the game has maintained a decent community, thanks mostly to the fever surrounding the movies. In fact, the Ubisoft adaptation even finished 2024 among the top 20 best-selling Xbox games of the year, generating over $133 million in revenue by that point.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes Expansion will be available for on Ubisoft+, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and PC via the Ubisoft Store, Epic Games Store, and Steam starting at $39.99.
