Shichijo Kanshundo, a confectionery in Kyoto, Japan, has announced that it’ll be making Pokémon-themed treats throughout the year, which can be bought in store and online to reach more people than its limited-time Pokémon sweets.

Shichijo Kanshundo has been making Pokémon treats since 2023, though they were always specifically for events in Kyoto. Now, the confectionery is releasing new Kyoto-themed Pokémon sweets that will be sold no matter the season.

First up are Pokémon Fresh Sweets, which come in four pieces that resemble Pikachu, Ho-Oh, Darmanitan, and Clodsire (or Dooh, in Japanese). These are jo-namagashi, which are traditional Japanese sweets that are created to represent themes, commonly the seasons or poetry. These specific jo-namagashi are created using water from Higashiyama, Kyoto.

Another option is Pokémon Fuyaki, which comes in three pieces that Kyoto sceneries and Japanese patterns with Pikachu, Magikarp, and Ho-Oh. These are baked rice crackers that have been hand-painted.

There are also dried sweets that feature Pikachu, cherry blossoms, and autumn leaves in a cloud brocade pattern to highlight the beauty of the two seasons (spring and fall). There are also molded dried confections in the sweets that were created using hand-carved wooden molds.

Additionally, on the 7th of every month, fresh Pokémon treats will be available at the Kyoto Main Store. The sweets are being available to ship frozen nationwide starting on October 20, 2025.
