The core of the update, which is numbered v1.13.3, is the addition of a large number of bespoke icons for a large number of aircraft, which will help with recognition of who might be flying around you at a glance.

It also includes a round of fixes and adjustments to prevent some crashes and slowdowns when zooming in and out the map.

You can find the full update notes below, as published in Volanta’s official Discord server.

Enhancements

  • Added icons for CRJ5, A4, A7, B1, B105, B429, C101, C160, DSTR, F104, F406, F8, FW90, GL7T, KFIR, LANC, M339, ME09, MIRA, P46T, SR22, SSAB, STRK, V10, VULC, B17, B24, B25, B29, BE18, DHC4, E2, HURI, T38 submitted by Hexe – thank you very much!

Fixes

  • Adjustments in how plugins are being run to prevent FSX/P3D sometimes crashing.
  • Fixed the map taking a painfully long time to zoom in and out.
  • Removed SimConnect install prompt for MSFS (2020 and 2024) users, as it’s no longer required with the new plugins.
  • Fixed the flight path chart and playback incorrectly not showing some positions for helicopter flights at very low speeds.

If you’re unfamiliar with Volanta, it’s a flight-tracking application published by Orbx that is free to download and comes with a growing set of features on top of the basic ability to track your flights.

You can also opt to pay a premium subscription monthly or yearly to unlock even more advanced features like Scheduled pause and more.

Volanta is platform-agnostic, so it worls with all major flight simulators, including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, DCS World, Prepar3D, and more.

It’s currently available for PC, iOS, and Android, on top of a handy web browser version, which you can check out without an account to see who’s flying at any given time.
