The game was released nearly a month ago in Early Access, and it was generally well-received by players. Now, Game Designer Dmitry Glaznev addressed players with a roadmap for the next three months.

According to Glaznev, there will be roadmap updates for Norland every three months. The roadmap content isn’t everything coming in the upcoming months, though. It’s just the minimum the team plans to add to the game.

In August, most of the patches will focus on optimizing what’s already in the game based on community feedback. The team is also giving Lords graves and adding a new combat option: a ‘Shoot at enemy Archers’ command.

Norland will continue getting optimization updates through September. The team will also add ranged towers and crossbows to combat. New story content is coming with unique guests who will visit players’ provinces randomly as events.

The team has high hopes for October – it plans to complete city walls and gates. Plus, it plans to add a family tree interface and improve relationships, specifically with usurpers and barons.

A beta test branch will also come soon, letting players try out new features before they’re ready for an official Early Access launch. To check this out, players can right-click Norland in their library, go to Properties, and look under Betas.

Some of the upcoming features in the next roadmaps include reworking maps, climate changes, and improving diplomacy and politics. Plus, new buildings, combat tactics, and resources are planned as well.

Glaznev thanked players for their support, encouraging them to continue giving feedback so they could improve the game. Long Jaunt is actively listening to players. Part of the reason the team is only putting out three-month roadmaps is so that it can listen to what players want and adjust their development plans accordingly.
