As with ships in real life, lighthouses will now play an even bigger role, as of the Ships at Sea update v0.8.2, serving as both navigation markers and much more. One of the most important systems that comes alongside running one of these buildings is the Main Power Supply Unit.

The Main Power Supply Unit is located at the base of every lighthouse, serving to power both the lantern room and the interior lighting of the building. Here, you can manually switch circuit breakers on and off, replace Fresnel lenses, and oversee other essential repairs and maintenance necessary to keep the lights on.

Alongside the Power Supply, the Volt gauge indicator is vital for making sure you’re receiving stable power. If the voltage drops significantly, it may signal a fault in the system, such as an overloaded circuit or a failing component, prompting further inspection and troubleshooting.

Switchboard light indicators will fall into one of three categories:

  • Green Light = Ok – Everything is functioning normally. The switchgear and connected systems are working as expected without any issues.
  • Yellow Light = Needs Attention – There may be a warning or minor issue, such as partial degradation or reduced performance. Maintenance may be needed soon.
  • Red Lights = Failure – A critical failure has occurred. The switchgear or related systems are no longer functioning properly, and immediate attention or repair is required.

Lighthouse systems will Ships at Sea will be added into missions relatively soon, as Misc Games promised that all lighthouse-related tasks will now be properly tracked. For more information on this, as well as future and previous updates, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
