PMDG Delays Further Boeing 777 Releases

PMDG provided an update about the releases of its upcoming aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020.

A naming convention error has been made in the 777 line, which was exposed by the MSFS 2024 marketplace submission. The error needs to be fixed, and since it’s at the core of the product and the developer needs to test the fix to make sure it doesn’t actually break anything else.

On top of that, one of the developers involved in the fix got the flu, so that put a wrench in the works. The developer anticipates having the fix ready for test on Friday (May 30) and resubmitting the 777-200ER, 777F, and 777-300ER to Microsoft for approval for the official marketplace one week later.

This unfortunately, didn’t cause a delay only for the official marketplace releases, but also for the 777-300ER’s release for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and its update for MSFS 2020.

That being said, the developer expects to release the product on its own store “almost immediately upon us confirming that the fix works for the 200ER and the 777F.”

The beta testing of the 777-200LR has also been delayed and will begin after the other three versions are released.

The DC-6 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and its update for MSFS 2020 should be in testing “within days,” and it should be released soon after if things go well. That being said, the developer is wary of LOD changes that might come with Sim Update 3, mentioning that there is a possibility that it could cause issues when it releases.

The rest of the work required to bring the 737 line to MSFS 2024 has been mapped out, and more resources will be put back into it when the 777 issue is solved.
