The Esports World Cup has announced another title for its 2025 competition, and it’s none other than the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves doesn’t release until April 24. This means the Esports World Cup 2025 will more than likely be the first major competition for the fighting game.
Fatal Fury was a staple fighting game of the ’90s, which also happens to be the last time fans saw a new game in the series. Now, 26 years later, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is reviving the franchise.
The esports community around esports is massive, and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is already seeing this hype.
SNK has already revealed the return of several fan-favorite characters like Gato, Rock Howard, Billy Kane, and Kevin Rian. It’s also already collaborated with Street Fighter, with Ken and Chun-Li being revealed last year.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is the twentieth game announced for the Esports World Cup 2025. Street Fighter 6 has also been announced as part of the 2025 roster, which could lead to fun fiascos between the communities, especially considering several characters appear in both games.
Some of the other games highlighted at the Esports World Cup 2025 will be Rennsport, Chess, Counter-Strike 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Rocket League.
There are still five games left to be announced for the worldwide esports event. Three of them are supposed to come on Monday, February 10, while the last two will be announced later this month.
