Today, the ultimate Cervidae crossover was announced, as Playism and indie developer Gibier Games announced that their Deeeer Simulator: Your Average Everyday Deer Game would be collaborating with the 2024 anime My Deer Friend Nokotan.
The crossover will last for a limited time, which will vary depending on the platform of choice, between January 7 and March 31, 2025. During this time period, players will have the ability to select a new in-game dance command that lets them do the Shikanoko Dance accompanied by the My Deer Friend Nokotan opening theme, “Shikairo Days.”
When it was teased early last year, Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan (aka My Deer Friend Nokotan) immediately became one of the hottest memes on the internet thanks to its cute, catchy, and bizarre opening, which you can see below:
And while Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan’s plot may have failed to capture the same magic as its adorable OP, that likely won’t stop fans from flocking to the game to relive the meme magic once again. Deeeer Simulator was originally released as a sandbox adventure title back in 2021.
Similar to other the Goat Simulator series, Deeeer Simulator has players take control of a deer, using its stretchy neck, stabby horns, and everything a deer has in its arsenal to tear through the city. You’ll also face off against other sentient animal foes, including Kung fu master sheep, bears who transform into police cars, and rabbits with ridiculously over-developed ears.
It is currently available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox Series X|S for as low as $5.99. It is important to note that the dance is available for a limited time only and will be removed once the distribution period – which takes place from January 7, 10:00 AM to February 4, 2025, 9:59 AM (PST) – has passed.
