The Like a Dragon series, formerly known in the West as Yakuza, has always been big into collaborating with real-world companies, especially at the local level in its most exotic locations. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii won’t be an exception.

Today Sega revealed several real-world local Hawaiian businesses and brands that will make an appearance in the upcoming game.

These include the historical shaved ice shop Matsumoto Shave Ice, the craft beer brewery Aloha Beer, the T-shirt store 88 Tees (featuring the mascot Yaya, who embodies the Aloha spirit and lifestyle), the convenience store chain ABC Stores Hawaii, the Waikiki-based cafe Dean & Deluca, the Oahu-based restaurant 53 By The Sea, the Hilo Hattie store, the popular Waikiki Trolley, and the restaurant franchise L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, which will be portrayed in the game as a food truck.

Interestingly, collaboration merchandise with some of these companies will also be sold in Japan, including Matsumoto Shave Ice, Aloha Beer, 88 Tees, Waikiki Trolley, and ABC Stores.

You can find both screenshots of the businesses in-game and illustrations of the merch in the gallery below.

Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

If you’re not familiar with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, it’s a spin-off of the Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) series similar to Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, but it’s leaning a lot more into the wacky side of the series.

While it features a similar Hawaiian setting as Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, it completely changes tone as it focuses on Goro Majima and his adventures as a pirate.

Among other things, it features naval combat and exploration, which is a brand-new feature for the franchise, basically making it the Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag of the Like a Dragon Series.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii releases on February 21, 2025, for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

If you’d like to see more about the game, you can enjoy the latest screenshots and details, the original reveal from just before Tokyo Games Show, a trailer about naval battles, one about combat, and one about side activities, a large gameplay reveal, and the reveal of the English voice actors.
