Since the release of My Time at Portia in 2019, Pathea Games has taken full advantage of Steam’s early access program to help iron out bugs and get user feedback. Today, it was announced that the next installment in the series, My Time at Evershine, will be skipping the usual early access period.

This news comes by way of a tweet in which the developers announced that they received so much funding from their Kickstarter project that they’ll be able to fully focus on delivering the full game upon its release. Alongside this, a new rival romance option is being added for at least one pair of non-core characters.

Anyone who has been paying attention to the game’s Kickstarter updates or Twitter account knows that this is actually the fulfillment of a promise that Pathea Games made back on October 9, 2024. When the project reached the halfway point of its funding timeframe, they announced that they would skip early access if they managed to reach $2.5 million by the end.

Thanks to YOU, we've hit our $2.5M Kickstarter goal! 🎉 Because of your amazing support, we're skipping Early Access and focusing on delivering the full game. Plus, we’re adding optional Rival Romance for at least one pair of non-core characters! 💖 pic.twitter.com/sygkpPoYGD

The tweet also mentions that the My Time at Evershine team will not have to crunch and that the launch process should go much smoother since they surpassed their funding goal. As of writing this, the game sits just above the $2.5 million mark, backed by almost 30,000 people, with 21 hours left.

Currently, there are only three goals still left to achieve on the pledge page:

  • $2.75 million Raised: Additional Core Romance Character – Vote for an additional core romancable NPC from previously provided candidates.
  • $3 million Raised: Zoo Building & Bonus – Capture animals from the wild and raise them in a zoo that tourists can visit to generate profits.
  • $10 million Raised: My Time at Portia Remake – A full remake of My Time at Portia with Evershine art style and QOL designs.

While the first two goals are obviously feasible within the next 21 hours, the third one is a joke, signified by a winking cat saying “HAHA” right next to it.

My Time at Evershine is the third installment in the series, set to take place three years after the previous two games, My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock.

The story places players in the shoes of a new playable character in charge of leading a new city-state that has come about after another situation between the Duvos Empire and the Northern Free Cities. There will be over 20 unique NPCs, and eight will be romanceable. Six of their designs have art already, and Kickstarter backers will choose the other two.

There is no official release date for My Time at Evershine, but we know that the game will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
