The update brings native integration with Tobii Eye Tracker 5, on top of several improvements for the default Airbus A330.

The electrical system has been rewritten from scratch with all the busses modeled, including AC1, AC2, AC ESS, DC BAT, DC1, DC2, and emergency configurations, and all flight deck systems draw power from the appropriate busses.

A new cold and dark configuration will wait for you when you get into the aircraft, while the MCDU and FMGC have been overhauled. The ADIRS have received a new alignment procedure, while the flight model and autopilot have been improved as well.

A functional RAT has been added, and the ELT is now functional. The flight deck displays have been improved, and you can read plenty of details on the official post, on top of watching the video below, showing some of the improvements.

In terms of default avionics, terrain, traffic, and weather pages have been added to the X430 and X530, with bug fixes and new features also coming to the X1000.

The Cirrus SR-22 also received improvements to its avionics and flight management systems.

Bilbao Airport (LEBB) in Spain received its own bespoke modeling, bringing to light its iconic architecture.

Further improvements include VR, FXAA Anti-Aliasing (which won’t affect cockpit displays anymore), and ATC.

The update also include community-driven improvements to 213 airports, and more default assets including airport signals, gliders, animated cranes, construction materials, a VHF Dipole Antenna Tower, RVs and Camping Equipment, more car variations, Pavements, Planters and Fences, and Ground Speed Limit Markings and Bumps.

On top of that, scenery processing now uses multithreading, with more changes coming down the line. It’s worth mentioning that results may vary as follows.

  • If your system was already GPU-limited, had fewer CPU cores, or had other bottlenecks, you may not see dramatic improvements.
  • The multi-core work shines brightest on modern multi-core CPUs at complex airports where scenery processing was previously the bottleneck.
  • Your results may vary significantly from these examples.

X-Plane 12 is currently available for PC.
