Kuro Games released a sneak peek at Wuthering Waves’ 1.2 update, addressing several problems in the game.
The first new addition is a new lock-on feature, allowing players to customize how their lock-on prioritizes enemies in larger groups. This comes after Kuro improved the auto-lock feature 1.1. In 1.2, players can focus on customizing the feature to streamline their particular playstyle.
Storing excess Waveplates is also getting easier. Players use Waveplates to collect various rewards, but they’re a limited resource. They regenerate up to 240, effectively keeping players from progressing too quickly.
In 1.2, an excess Waveplate feature will be introduced. This lets Waveplates continue to regenerate into a Waveplate Crystal when Waveplates are full. Players can only have 480 Waveplaye Crystals, and they have a one-to-one exchange rate with Waveplates.
Players will also have the option to play in 120 FPS on PC for the first time. This won’t be available for every PC, but it’s a nice option for players who have higher-end GPUs. This will be perfect for the new Resonator Showcases, which lets players playback the Convene animations of Resonators they have.
Another quality-of-life change is the Hoverdroid: Shooter. This Hoverdroid will help teams that don’t have ranged characters complete ranged tasks in the overworld.
Kuro is also adjusting a few minor things, such as specific Activity Point rewards. The Daily Quest to spend 180 Waveplates is being increased from 20 points to 60 points. This will slightly reduce the amount of grinding players will do to keep up with their dailies. Also helping out the grind of the game are new store rewards in the Illusive Store.
A new event is also coming called, “In the Turquoise Moonglow.” It’ll be a festival celebrating the moon.
Wuthering Waves saw a lot of harsh criticism on release because of overloaded servers and bugs, among other things. Kuro has fixed the major problems, and they’s focusing on improving the player experience with these changes. Kuro addressed this at the end of the sneak peek while also sharing the news that everyone will get a free 5-star Resonator, Xiangli Yao.
In more Wuthering Waves news, the free-to-play ARPG game is in development for PS5.
