The Wholesome Games Steam sale kicks off today with deals on cozy games in all genres, including sims of all kinds.
Wholesome Games is also the group behind the Wholesome Games Direct, an annual presentation of games that fit the cozy genre. As defined by the Steam sale page, these are games that “inspire optimism, joy, and introspection.”
These games span across nearly every genre imaginable, and sims are some of the most popular. In general, low-stakes sims are the subject of many self-defined cozy games.
Farming sims like Stardew Valley really boosted the idea of cozy and wholesome games. There are plenty of farming sims to check out during the Wholesome Games Steam sale, including Stardew Valley. Others are:
- Princess Farmer
- Wylde Flowers
- Fields of Mistria
- Garden Buddies
Management sims are also really popular, giving people a relaxing break from the real world. These are some of the wholesome management sims on sale:
- Sticky Business
- Coffee Talk
- To The Rescue!
- Little Dragons Cafe
City-builders or building sims in general are making a rise in the cozy community, and there are several on sale during the Wholesome Games Steam sale:
- Gourdlets
- Station to Station
- Bubblegum Galaxy
- Lakeburg Legacies
- Go-Go Town!

Wholesome simulators aren’t the only games featured in the sale, but they have a large presence. Other popular games included are Unpacking, Little Kitty Big City, Untitled Goose Game, and plenty more.
The celebration lasts until 1pm ET on August 21, 2024. Throughout the week, there will be announcements and previews revealed, too. The Steam sale page as well as the Wholesome Games X account will post updates.
