War Thunder Shows F-2A Viper Zero, Yamato, and Radar Control Screen From Leviathans Update

War Thunder F2 Viper Zero

War Thunder Developer Gaijin Entertainment released three new videos focusing on content coming with the next major update, dubbed the Leviathans Update.

The first video is the F-2A Viper Zero, built by Mitsubishi based on the American F-16 design.

Yet, it’s very different from its cousin, especially in the design of its much larger wing. While this makes it considerably slower, it improves maneuverability and grants the ability to carry a large weapon load.

You can watch it in action below.

We stay in Japan with the IJN Yamato, one of the most iconic battleships of World War II, which will join the roster alongside two more classics, the German Bismarck and the American Iowa

You can watch it in action and hear an introduction about its history and construction below.,

Perhaps even more interesting is a video showcasing the new radar control screen for radar vehicles that will be introduced with the update.

It lets you display contacts on both the horizontal plane and on the vertical plane, and engage them with missiles or guns, providing a great view of the surrounding battlefield.

The user can turn the search radar on and off, switch between radar IRST, and select search modes and scope scale. After you select a target and acquire it, you can launch missiles, switch their seeker on or off, or fire at the target with guns if your vehicle is equipped with them. The radar will even automatically lead a moving target.

You can enjoy the video and see how it all works.

War Thunder is a rather popular free-to-play (with many, many optional microtransactions) online simulator-lite with plenty of aircraft and vehicles to enjoy in ground, air, sea, and mixed battles. You can play it on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
