Each of the four major events will take place after Open Qualifiers, which occur for two weekends (four days). Anyone can create a team and qualify for the rest of the competition, with the top four teams scoring spots in the Play Off phases and automatically scoring points for themselves.

The point system for the War Thunder Championship Series is directly linked to he overall ranking of each major. The higher your team is ranked, the more points you’ll score:

Prizes include over 400,000 Golden Eagles distributed at each major event, exclusive Esports skins of the WTCS series, some unique and rare titles and vehicle coupons. Each competition will have different prizes and will be announced in advance shortly before they take place.

The four 2025 War Thunder Championship Series majors are:

  • Major I: Titan 5v5 [Bo5]
  • Major II: Armored Apex 4v4 [Bo5]
  • Major III: Air Superiority 4v4 [Bo7]
  • Grand Final: Thunder Cup

The Grand Final: Thunder Cup features all the major formats in a single competition. Players will compete in tanks, planes, and mixed to determine which team is truly the best in the new first season of the WTCS.

Community tournaments will also be held in between each event, featuring unique prizes, line-ups, and formats that will be voted on by the community. These events will take place over two to three days and will be rebroadcast on the War Thunder Twitch Esports channels, where you can catch the main events, too.

War Thunder is available now as a free-to-play title. For more information on the WTCS and the game’s constant updates, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
