Orbx released version v1.10.10 of its flight tracking suite for flight simulators Volanta bringing some quality-of-life improvements and more.
One interesting feature lets you toggle whether Volanta will start a flight as soon as the simulator is connected, letting you set it so that it’ll wait for an actual flight to be started.
Users can also access the 2024 Year in Review statistics, telling you how many countries you’ve visited, what your favorite aircraft are, and more interesting tidbits of knowledge.
Of course, the new update also includes the traditional ration of fixes for bugs and issues to make the experience smoother.
The patch notes shared on the official Discord server are as follows
Enhancements
- The Volanta 2024 year in review is here: check out your statistics, favorite aircraft, how many countries you visited and more!
- Added a simulator connection guide, available by clicking the grey dot indicating connection state or from the simulators page.
- Added an option to stop automatically starting flights under Settings → General → Automation. When turned off, Volanta will no longer start a flight when a connection is established to the simulator, instead waiting for the start flight button to be pressed.
- Updated instructions for the FlightGear plugin, which now works as a plugin and will only connect to Volanta if the user activates it, no longer attempting to reconnect periodically causing stutters.
- Added a remove all button to the roster, allowing you to clear the list quickly.
- Added AEST and E50P icons.
Fixes
- Fixed text sometimes overflowing on the country challenge page under activities.
- Fixed the origin, destination and alternate airports not being visible on active flights if the airports layer is turned off.
- Searching with filters among flights, aircraft and screenshots will now only return exact matches.
- Fixed Simbrief OFPs flowing off screen with no way to scroll them on certain layouts.
- Aircraft flight time in lists will now use real flight time, like when viewing individual aircraft.
- Fixed an issue where the scenery scanner would hang when having fake FSX or other sim installs.
