Respawn Apologizes for Controversial Apex Legends Battle Pass Changes

Recently, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment announced changes to the Battle Pass system of the battle royale game Apex Legends that would have launched with Season 22.

The changes basically split the old Premium Battle pass into two, forcing players to purchase it with real money instead of Apex Coins.

This unsurprisingly caused anger in the community and sank the game to “overwhelmingly negative” reviews on Steam.

Today’s announcement includes an apology and the promise of more “timely, transparent, and consistent” communication. On top of that, players will be able to get the Premium Battle Pass for Season 22 Split 1 on August 6 via a series of in-game challenges, while the Premium Battle Pass for Split 2 on September 17 will be available once again via Apex Coins.
