The update is bigger than most, and it includes a lot of improvements, many of which were discussed in an earlier video a few weeks ago.

The assets for furniture and interiors have been overhauled, with placeholder items being changed with final art that comes with much better definition. This overhaul will continue in following updates.

Zombies have also been improved with new hit effects and animations, on top of better pathfinding. The way hordes behave has also been changed. They are now more complex and less punishing to new players.

The lighting has been changed with the day sky appearing less blown out and the nights looking darker.

You can check out a video showing many of the changes below, but you can also check out the full patch notes that list plenty more changes. Incidentally, this update also includes more bug fixes than usual, also listed in the patch notes.

If you’re unfamiliar with Vein, it’s a first-person zombie survival game that could be considered roughly as a fully 3D version of the popular Project Zomboid.

It’s coming for PC on Steam, and an extensive demo is already playable. It’s constantly updated and it comes with enough content to be enjoyed and played extensively even before the full release. This is a rather user-friendly alternative to early access, meaning that you can download and enjoy the current build without having to spend any money.

While Vein is available in its demo form only on PC, it’ll also come for Xbox Series X|S when it’s completed.
